Friday 4X4 Anything Goes

This is my first time taking part in this challenge. Making this clown collage card was fun, and a fast way to create art each week. My only other experience with 4x4's are in fatbook swaps which require 25-45 pages. So now I will have my own fatbook with all the cards I make each week for this group. Cool!

Tyvek beads and fabric paper

I spent a part of my day today shopping at Michaels' Dollar Sale and makingTyvex beads. The sale was great! I was able to get Premo clay for a buck as well as a lot of other things I needed...well wanted! (lol)
Making the beads was fun. This was my first time doing this, and my first few were like rocks because I used the heat gun too long, but I ended up with some that are okay.

Yesterday I tried my hand at making fabric paper using cheese cloth as a base. It came out a lot stiffer than I thought it would (perhaps I didn't dilute my glue enough), but it was fun adding in fibers and pieces of papers. I think the paper is too stiff to use for a quilt I was considering using it for. Guess I'll have to cut it up and use it as embellishments.
I am going to be defeated by this, I am determined to make a piece of fabric paper that is sot enough to use as a quilt top!

What I'm working On

I decided to try my hand at making fabric paper and other embellishments strictly from paper. I have loads of paper, plain and decorated, as well as piles of ephemera. My plan was to use all my hoarded paper items in altered books, but haven't gotten around to that, plus I want to make items I can decorate my home with or give to friends as gifts.
Since I now know the final number of fatbook pages that I need to make for the swap, I can use the scraps of painted watercolor paper for other stuff. So far I am using punches and brads to make tiny flowers and attachments to add to my fabric papers. Can't wait to see what comes of this rush of creativity.

My place for art

Okay so I have a quilting blog with I started a month or so ago, but the blog also has some of my artwork. Light bulb moment, have another blog! So here it is, a place to show my art and projects I am working on. I just spent a week making Fatbook pages for an Art and Soul swap. The photo is of one of my pages.

Since I divide my time between fabric art an paper art, as would be the case, I am back to making fabric art I am working on two projects that if they come out as I hope, will be submitted for publication in a magazine.
